Great for a quick swim, but not a place you can stay the day, shame really.

An essential public facility for the village. Friendly helpful and committed staff, a relaxed atmosphere. Lots of different types of swimming sessions and complete pool hire opportunities. The pool is heated, come and swim outdoors, keep fit, and enjoy. Keep our pool open for all.

I've been to most outdoor swimming pools in the country the last time I visited this pool was in 2014 and will be visiting again in may for a couple of weeks it's a great little pool very community minded clean and tidy and reasonable prices and was very impressed about the place I'm glad to see it's still open especially how things are today with the cost of living the people who lives in this area are so lucky to have a pool like this to go to especially with so few outdoor pools about

First time going to the pool today and have to say I'm a little disappointed. The pool itself is lovely for an old outdoor pool, noy as warm as expecte , plenty of seating too.
However....the lifeguards don't seem to be bothered, one from one side of the pool had to walk round to talk to some kids who were right infront of the other lifeguard who was more interested in how he looked.
The changing facilities are basic but fifty. The disabled changing had a tampon on top of the toilet roll holder, the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while ,poo all up the seat and sides, rubbish all over the floor.
The water you walk though to the pool looked like it had seen better days and a 1000 feet trampled though it.
I get it run by volunteers but surely they can check the toilets etc.
Such a shame as its so nice to swim outdoors
I'm afraid we won't be back as locals

Read before booking Swimming lessons!!
If you're planning on booking a Preschool or younger aged child into Swimming lessons, check their height first. They need to be over 1m tall in order to confidently stand touching the floor, as they're expected to float/tred water unaided on their 1st lesson!
I was not advised of this beforehand and my child struggled to do this, resulting in them exiting the pool after less than 2 minutes, very upset and scared to return.
Kingsteignton Swimming Pool strictly will not refund the £45 paid for my childs lessons, as its against their policy, despite it being extremely unsafe for my child to be in the water!

Went along to the pool for the first time today and wow, what a little gem!
Water quality was excellent, staff friendly and engaging and the facilities, although basic, lovely and clean!
Will definitely become a regular customer here!

Me, my husband and our one year old son went for a family swim on the open lane swimming. The sun was shining and the pool was so refreshing. We felt safe as they followed covid rules and the pool and facilities were so clean. All the staff so helpful and friendly what a lovely find definitely worth a visit. Toddler pool perfect for our little boy we had a lovely afternoon in the sun l. Thank you so much Grace, Jan & David for looking after us all see you soon xx
