Stayed in a one bed apartment within the hotel itself. A little dated but very quiet, clean and comfortable. Was great to have the opportunity to be self catering within a hotel - very unusual in the UK. Hotel situated between a railway line and the River Teign but the railway didn't disturb at all, and the sunrise over the river was spectacular. I was here for work but didn't really sample the food so cannot comment on this but the staff were super helpful, polite, and friendly. If you can get past the fact it is dated, I'd recommend a stay here.

We stayed in room 525 for 3 nights. The apartment was enormous and clean, with a very well equipped kitchen. The view over the estuary was fantastic and this apartment would be ideal in the summer. The staff at the bar were lovely and helpful. We made full use of the leisure facilities and our son loved the pool. We will be back again.

I love popping in here for a coffee and little shortbread biscuits that come with it. Very comfortable sofas and sunny conservatory and decking area

Stayed the night in their ‘deluxe room’ which just felt like they’d put a high price of £160 a night on for a view you can get from the bar. The bed was comfortable but everything in the hotel felt tired and uncared for. In our deluxe room there was lots of mould on the bathroom ceiling, the bath had a crock in that they had just cellotaped up and the door was broken and wouldn’t close. There were scuff marks on the doors and it just felt like they’d gone ‘it has a nice view, don’t worry about much else’. When I asked to speak to someone about it they called the manager on duty and I was left waiting at reception for 15 minutes before one of the lower staff members helped me out and offered £50 refund as a goodwill gesture. The staff I encountered were lovely but this place isn’t worth the price or driving out of your way for. Book somewhere that cares more about you and its hotel and then drive to one of the many places you can get a good view of the river. Oh and breakfast was £23 each! And they gave just one sausage and one egg and said no when we asked for another helping. Rooms: Overpriced, out of date and uncared for Food & drinks: Drinks were fine, breakfast was a scam Noteworthy details: Mold in bathroom and cellotaped bath. Ignored by management.

Great place to go for a carvery. They do a small carvery as well if required. Check opening times in the Autumn/Winter as carvery not every day. Good place to sit outside in good weather.

Hosted my dads surprise 60th birthday party here this weekend The staff were lovely, super friendly and supportive The food was really good and the timings were great for the evening The room was a bit tired but clean overall The drinks at the event were super reasonable but I had some feedback from guests that the rooms and breakfast were expensive The event was pretty expensive but I think it was no more expensive than other venues and the fact that the bar was reasonable made a massive difference Overall would recommend for an event and would use again Would love to host something in the summer as the view is stunning

Very reasonable price considering location and other hotel prices. Only let down being looking very dated in places and the rooms could do with a bit of love. Very old carpets and paintwork Also only lift is in the main hotel. Not available in the north lodge across the carpark.

Lovely big rooms , good quality towels and comfortable beds, all front of house team super friendly and helpful. Pool lovely but pool area very tired and worn out. Room really not cleaned well, massive dust balls in corners ,stains on carpets, no tea or coffee just sugar and milk offer on hot drink tray. Breakfast underwhelming with poor quality sausages and bacon.

Lovely stay here as part of my daughters 16th birthday celebrations, booked a deluxe river view room with balcony. Rooms are slightly tired and dated, however very clean and well equipped. Beautiful view so definately recommended booking the deluxe. We had a room with a bath which was nice although had small issues with the plug which was reported to maintenance but didn't effect our stay at all. Swimming pool is small but adequate though slightly cold and open til 9pm. Staff we come across were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice including various dietary needs such as oat milk, cereals, pastries, toast, hot and cold beverages though had to ask if they catered for vegetarians on the cooked breakfast. Food was hot and tasty. Already looking at booking again
